Recently New Media Lisa had a great post called 8 ways to be extraordinary online. Considering we are fast approaching the new year, I thought it might be appropriate to use these 8 ways to help us set our goals for the coming year.
Here they are:
I hope you take this list and make 2009 an extraordinary year for you and your business.
Also don’t forget to subscribe to the Blog For Profit Newsletter. We include information in the newsletter we don’t feature here on the blog. And when you subscribe, you get a free copy of our eBook , Blogging Tips to Help You Blog.
If you are not using twitter, you really should be. I have been using twitter regularly now for at least 6 months. And I can say it is one of the most effective ways to build a network and stay in touch with that network. I have met and come to know some amazing people on twitter. In fact, I have developed friendships and even some great business relationships on twitter.
One thing I have found a bit lacking with twitter is the ability to form groups. At least until now. Tweetworks has come to the rescue giving us the ability to form groups and to communicate with those in the group.
I set up a group called BlogForProfit. I want this twitter group to be a place where we can talk about all things dealing with using a blog to market your business and/or professional service firm. What you will find amazing about twitter and I am hoping this group is how fast you can get in touch with someone. And how fast you can get an answer to a question or problem you may be having. Using twitter to gain answers to my own questions has been a tremendous tool. I use it for simple questions I need answered to research for blog post on Blog For Profit.
I encourage all of you to use twitter. And I encourage all of you who are, to join the BlogForProfit twitter group.
You can follow me on twitter at @grantgriffiths and this blog at @BlogForProfit. And don’t forget about our Blog For Profit Facebook Group.
I know, I know, I said I wasn’t going to post on Christmas day. And, you know me, couldn’t resist. Actually, I did the post yesterday as it was something I just had to say.
2008 has been amazing year for us here at Blog For Profit and at G2WebMedia. G2WebMedia has seen steady and continued growth throughout 2008. And what is best, it is not so much we are making money. The best part is the awesome people we have had the opportunity to meet and work with on their internet marketing and blogsites. And if this month has been any indication, 2009 is even going to be better at G2. We will also be launching more blogs for our clients shortly so be watching for them as we highlight their work and what they are blogging about.
Also, between client work and trying to get some sleep, we have been quickly working on a complete redesign of the G2WebMedia blogsite. It will have some cool features we are trying and an even better way for us to highlight our clients. Be watching for that relaunch soon.
And as all of you know since you are the readers of Blog For Profit, we did a major redesign of this blog a couple of months ago. Not only did we reintroduce Blog For Profit, we also introduced our Newsletter. Let me just first say, the response to our new design has been wonderful. And we have seen a huge increase in our readership and subscribers. Not only that, I found myself even more excited about publishing new content than ever before. And I have had a blast writing, researching and coming up with the content. The series, Building a Successful Blog has been especially fun to do. Rest assured, that series will continue over the next several weeks and even months. We have a lot to talk about.
The Newsletter has gone well. We did not publish our normal issue this week as I did not want you spending your time reading your emails and my newsletter. And, to be quite frank, I did not want to take the time to put it together. As you know, we will be holding a special free Q&A teleseminar sometime in the next couple of weeks for those who do subscribe to the newsletter. So be watching for the date and time of the teleseminar soon. We may even do this as a live Ustream video event. Haven’t decided for sure on that one yet as I don’t want to scare you all away with my ugly mug. But, my friend and fellow blogger, Michael Martine at Remarkablogger has been using this and he says it is great fun. Maybe I can get Michael to join us for the live event.
Finally, I just want to say thank you to all of you. All of you who are our regular readers here on Blog For Profit. All of you who trusted us this last year to work with you on your internet marketing and your blogsite. All of you who followed me on twitter and put up with my opinions during the election and beyond. And to all of you who are just you. I have to say over the last year I have made some great new friends and have continued to build on already established friendships. You all have truly been a blessing. And, for that Thank You!!!
Lets all look forward to a great 2009 together and lets all kick some collective butt. Don’t let the economic issues we keep getting hammered with from Washington and the media get you down. Look on them with excitement as they will provide us with new opportunities to grow and expand our own futures.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and happy New Year to all of you, and may “God Bless us all everyone.”
